Although the European Red Squirrels aren't related to the flying squirrel family,
they still have some amazingly strong, powerful and very flexible back legs.
They are so powerful that they can jump
6 to 8 times their own body length, from a complete standstill.
That's the equivalent to a human,
jumping an entire European truck length, from a complete standstill,
without a running head start.
If that's not impressive enough, they can flip their rear legs,
180 degrees so they can grab trees and their bark,
run around it, upside down and side to side,
just as fast as if they were running on the ground,
basically defying gravity.
